Things Layla has said:
Sobbing: I want my colorado house! I don't want to go back to my Oman house. (After lots of travel and then a long line at the border just waiting and rolling slowly forward)
Men dress up here. Women dress up here too. When I get older I have to do my head covering
Me to Layla: We're going over to the neighbor's house soon and we'll get something to eat there. "Do they have sippy cups?" No baby, they probably don't. They are an American thing. "oh, they have glasses"
All the snow melted!!
Look a bug!
Don't put me in my bed! (she's slept in our bed repeatedly for the first time in her life. She's never liked that before.)

So we've made it! It is very surreal. I'm realizing that I'm gotten used to being clean and dust-free. There is just so much DUST/fine sand here and you through in a toddler and it's like farm kids....they are really dirty by the end of the day! I'm going to have to mentally adjust here! City kids stay so clean by comparison (= Maybe suburban kids, not city kids.
Anyway. It is SO surreal because it all looks so familiar and normal and yet new and out of place at the same time.
Tom has slept really well and is tearing around the house unpacking. I can barely think about making coffee (= He always had the gift of just laying down and sleeping until he rested (= layla and i sleep more in 3-4 hour bouts.
Ooo. must go. questions questions questions
