I should be napping....

It's crazy - i can't seem to sleep when Tom and Lj sleep. What is up with that.

Today we stopped by the language school just to take a look-see and say hello to the teachers. It was LOVELY to see them again. Two have had kids in the past 18 months, and the other is due in three months. My friend Vic is coming up this weekend and we'll have a little girls get together (=

We've seen two other neighbors - I'm hoping to just hunker down in the house this afternoon and evening. I'm actually feeling some creative juices flowing which means that I'm not so exhausted. Layla did another full night of sleeping so that was a blessing. I was up again at 430am but did squeeze in a short nap before she woke up.

We were cleaning up around the yard on Sunday and Tom went out to take the trash to the trash pile near our house. Our elderly neighbor was out and he just insisted on coming over for coffee. In about three minutes flat he and Tom are sitting on a grass mat in the yard on the gravel. We have a small patch of shade from our ENORMOUS palm tree. Miraculously there isa tray of dates and coffee that appeared. So he starts yelling over the wall (we share a wall and we have a lovely view of all his date palms and other trees. I am SO lucky to have something green to look at everyday. And yes, we do hear everything that goes on and vice versa!)

Anyway, so here comes his equally aged wife. I wrote about her in this post when we first met her. She had her daughter with her and her two kids. Typical to the older woman, she just walked around the house totally curious and not minding the manners of any culture (= We chit chatted and then actually went back to their house. It was a really nice time - I love that the pressure to make conversation is far less here than in the US. There is just a much slower rhythm. They served really cold fruit which was lovely.

anyway. I am getting sleepy and should catch a quick nap before Lj wakes up. She's been sleeping for three hours now! Yippee!
